Berryville Library 5/15/25

Tuesday, May 15, Jan Scheel, Kristy Tesch, Anita Engert, and Jennifer Hudspeth volunteered in the Berryville Library Garden. A sweet and hardworking little master gardener, Callan Stone, joined us for the morning. Weeds are plentiful after the recent rains. We weeded, pruned dead peony blooms, and some of the spring bulb foliage, and planted two full sun containers with perennial sedum. The coco liner in the shade container was replaced, and we planted dragon wing and wax begonias, trailing plectranthus (Swedish ivy), and variegated English ivy. The hostas, ferns, and early blooming perennials beautiful, and they love the moist soil after the spring rains. The drift roses are blooming, but we found significant sawfly damage on the foliage. The next scheduled workday is Tuesday, May 27, ay 8:30 am.
