On Tuesday, November 4, Luanne Bullard, Anita Engert, and Jennifer Hudspeth volunteered at the Berryville Public Library garden. Their tasks began with removing Daylily and Iris foliage from the beds, watering the container Kimberly Queen ferns, followed by weeding and general bed clean-up. The Itea ‘Sweetspire’ displayed beautiful fall color. The two varieties of Tradescantia ‘Purple Heart’ looked lovely under the Blue Atlas Cedar, their colors complementing each other well. Pollinators were active on the Roses and Echinacea ‘Coneflower.’ We’re expecting a hard freeze this weekend, and will continue to putting the garden “to bed” for fall in the coming weeks.
