Little Lake Eureka – 9/11/25

A regularly scheduled workday was held at Little Lake Eureka on Thursday, September 11 beginning at 9am.  Kim Yonkee, Darla Danvers, and Jennifer Boardman volunteered their time to work.  Weeding and pruning helped the garden look more tidy.  Flowers in bloom at this time, in addition to the cleomes, include the Night Blooming Tobacco (Nicotiana sylvestris), Zinnia varieties, Moonflower (Datura metel), Red Spider Lily (Lycoris radiata), Autumn Sage (Salvia greggii), and Tall American Bellflower (Campanula americana).

We removed some of the flowering cleome plants to allow other plants, such as the Purple Fountain Grass and Red Spider Lilies, to show.  A few marked clumps of Narcissus bulbs were dug up and divided.  Many bulbs were replanted, and the excess bulbs will be donated to the beautification project at the Eureka Springs cemetery and will be planted there around the new entrance sign on September 27.   Thanks to all CCMG members that help care for this sanctioned garden!
