What a turnout for the La La Lavender field trip! I never took a full count but we had somewhere around 30 people attend. Many CCMG, plus former CCMG, and Madison County Gardeners, as well. Renee and David served Lavender Lemonade and Lavender Lemon Bundt Cake, which were such a treat!

Renee gave a demonstration on how to propagate lavender, explained lavender’s growing habits and needs and also explained how to make lavender lemonade and lavender extract too!
We then went to the fields where people were allowed to gather some french lavender (I believe it was Grosso) which we learned is a fragrant lavender and not edible. The edible lavenders are of the English variety, including Hidcote and Mumstead.
Bees, butterflies, laughter and friendship were all present. More field trips to come. We hope you can make them!
