Thank you to CC Extension Agent Monty Rexwinkle, master gardeners Jan Scheel, Linda Prince, Regina and Randy Hooten, Anita Engert, and Jennifer Hudspeth. Monty planted our new Cryptomeria Japonica ‘Black Dragon Japanese Cedar’, Randy raked all the dead leaves out of the walkways and garden beds, and the rest of the crew weeded, deadheaded, and watered. We found monarch caterpillars happily munching the native milkweed. Despite the dryness the garden is looking lovely with summer perennials and the Hydrangeas ‘Limelight’ and ‘Bobo’ coming into bloom. With the dry weather we are doing quite a bit of supplemental watering between workdays. The next workday is Tuesday, July 25.
