Drone flyover view of Dripping Springs Gardens

This month’s meeting via Zoom featured a presentation by the owners of Dripping Springs Gardens, a commercial organic growing operation since 1984, located south of Berryville in the Metalton/Dry Fork Creek area.

While we could not travel to the site due to Covid-19, Mark Cain and Michael Crane provided us with a virtual drone flyover view of their gardens. We got an inside look at their greenhouses and fields, what they grow and how they do it. On most days you’ll find them, with the help of several student apprentices, busy at the work of seeding, weeding, harvesting and marketing of over 30 types of vegetables, 60 species of cut flowers, shiitake mushrooms, and blueberries.

They sell weekly at the Farmers’ Market in Fayetteville. Dripping Springs Gardens also has a CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture) where local families can subscribe to receive a weekly delivery of fresh veggies throughout the year, of whatever is in season.
